The end

It’s been a good run, but tomorrow is the very last day, at least for the foreseeable future, that I take the Springwater path at ridiculous hours of the morning to get to work.

(I will definitely miss this part of the ride, even though it hasn’t been light enough to see the mountain for a while now;)

For the last several weeks, it’s been a bit of a countdown: only 12 more morning rides. Only 6 more morning rides. Last week of mornings rides. And tomorrow, last day. Onward to unknown bigger and better things.

As if it knows I’m leaving it, the Springwater path has been on its best behavior, putting its most impressive foot forward. Three times now, in the last two weeks, I’ve been serenaded by coyote on my way home in the dark; just a few days ago I actually saw the trickster looking at me hard from the middle of the path before it loped off the side of the trail, easy as can be.

I will miss this commute.

I will miss this job.

What shape will life take when my commute is different, riding perhaps another direction, perhaps at another time, or all of the above? I don’t know yet, but I do know that so far, it’s only gotten better. Life, bring it on — but constant Springwater, I’ll miss you.

  1. De nouveaux horizons…toujours une aventure! :-)

  2. What’s the next gig? Anything lined up?

    • First, going to South America. Second, figuring out the rest of my life. heh. Which is to say, nothing lined up but lots of things (hopefully) cooking;)

    • …which is ALSO to say, hey! If you hear of any great jobs, especially young-adult-mentoring or natural-resource focused ones, I know a lady looking! ;)

  3. Want to move to Boise? I know some great opportunities around here… :)

    • Do you actually? heh. I mean, no, I don’t think moving to Boise is in the future, but the fact that I’d even consider it for a second is all because of you! :)
